About Us
Our goal is to conserve nature to the best of our abilities. The Dunefields project officially started in 2022 when we made the promise to the previous nature loving owners to protect the ecosystems in this beautiful piece of land. Expertly managed by two then PhD students, now doctors themselves, together we are ensuring the future protection and persistence of the local flora and fauna found in the vulnerable dune ecosystem. Dunefields is still young but we want it to become an example of a private nature reserve with a focus on studying the environment in the unique location on the Paradise Ridge, enjoying the wonders of these surroundings, and protecting and rescuing animals in need.
Meet the Team
Ownership:
With an extreme admiration and appreciation for nature, Holly and Jan bought Dunefields Private Nature Reserve in 2022 through which they aim to conserve all forms of life on their piece of paradise.
Management:
Dunefields is managed by Drs Zanri and Tiaan Strydom who devote their life to the conservation of nature. They both have 10 years of conservation experience in various fields with research being a strong component.
Staff:
The maintenance supervision at Dunefields is conducted by Christo Arries and Pieter Jantjies. They oversee Christiaan Arries, Gareth Arries and Jadrian Jantjies. The maintenance team is trained and committed to building on the aesthetic value of the nature reserve.
